Meet Our Girls Program Director: Jess Conlon
Jess Conlon is a highly respected coach, hockey entrepreneur, and professional skating and skills instructor with a proven track record of advancing players to the NCAA, international, and professional levels. She brings over a decade of head, assistant, and skills coaching experience across elite youth, collegiate, and Tier 1 programs.
A native of Anchorage, Alaska, Jess grew up playing pond hockey with her siblings before moving to Phoenix, Arizona. She went on to play and serve as captain for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, helping her team capture an ACHA National Championship during her freshman year. While still in college, she joined the Bulldogs’ men’s coaching staff as defensive coach and later interim head coach — laying the foundation for her career behind the bench.
Jess went on to coach with Arizona Premier (now Team Arizona) and Grand Canyon University’s women’s team, eventually becoming GCU’s Women’s Head Coach in 2023. She served as head coach for the Arizona Kachinas for seven seasons, becoming the first female Tier 1 Head Coach in the state when the program achieved Tier 1 status in 2022. Today, she also operates Conlon Hockey and Bandits Hockey Club, providing year-round development opportunities.
Jess is a Level 4 USA Hockey Coach, a member of the NHL Coaches Association, and an evaluator for USA Hockey State and Regional Player Development Camps — making her uniquely qualified to mentor players and guide them toward their next level.
